Supplying Healthy Alternatives for Personal Empowerment
S.H.A.P.E. combines positive discipline techniques with standard behavior modification based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. ABA is a scientifically based approach in effectively dealing with behavior management. Parents struggling with behaviors such as power, revenge, attention seeking and avoidance will find this class helpful.
Parents will learn:
1) How to recognize the reason behind the various behaviors
2.) How to respond to the negative behavior in order to reduce future occurrences
4.) How to teach their children the responses they desire
As parents are learning these skills in their class, their children are also provided an opportunity to begin experiencing these techniques in their own classroom.
The ultimate goal of this class is to empower both parents and children in strengthening the parent-child relationship, in order to help the family unit flourish as a whole.
This program meets once a week for a total of 8 sessions.
Reaching for Individuality Through Self Empowerment
R.I.S.E. consists of a 54 week curriculum in a workshop type of setting for women who seek to reach their maximum potential as individuals, as mothers, and as partners. Workshops include healthy relationship guidelines, interactive activities, understanding of Family Outreach programs and availabilities, and ultimately – Graduation!
The workshop consists of 4 Quarters each lasting 3 months: Relationships, Discovery, S.H.A.P.E., and Anger Management.
Once graduated, women can then consider becoming a volunteer and mentor to other women entering into the workshop. Their support of others will allow them to experience firsthand how the program has influenced their decisions, personal growth, and self empowerment.
